Mrs. S reached out to me through my Better Business Bureau Profile, she wanted to have family portraits taken. We decided to meet up at the Nelson-Atkin's Museum of Art to take advantage of the architectural backdrops as well as the natural scenery. The S family is a close-knit family and you can just see the love bubbling out of their portraits. An absolute joy to work with, and the portraits came out beautiful despite the cloudy skies. I wish the S family all the best.

What do you get when you combine a gorgeous country road, late fall sun, cozy flannel, an adorable pup, and a beautiful couple? Fall portrait perfection. A special thank you to my sister for inviting me to southwestern Tennessee for an amazing weekend of country roads, antiquing, and cotton fields. I wish the two of you all the best! See you again soon!
There are few things better than a warm, sunny day in early fall. I met up with the A family on a perfect early fall day at English Landing Park in Parkville, MO. We were able to get a few portraits by the river before little T decided he was done sitting still. Fortunately, mom and dad had plenty of tricks in mind to keep him entertained and there was a playground to explore! The A family was so fun to work with, and I love all the toddler giggles we were able to capture. I hope they look back on these portraits with smile as T grows up.
I had a hunch this was going to be an amazing photography session the moment A reached out to me with a request to take family portraits at the family farm. I was not disappointed. The farm had a variety of gorgeous backdrops to choose from, and A's brother joined in on the fun by providing a tractor as a prop. Such a fun family to work with, I just wish the storms would have had other plans. That's summer in the mid-west for you!
I got to meet up with a beautiful couple celebrating a handfasting in a Kansas City park right around sunset. Depending on my camera angle, some of the portraits have the golden glow of the setting sun, while others take advantage of the deeper shades of the "blue hour." In celebration of the handfasting, the majority of the portraits are couple's portraits, but we did sneak in a few family portraits too! Such a beautiful family, I wish them many happy years together.
A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to meet up with a wonderful couple. Mr. N has recently published his first book and needed some headshots for his upcoming website. He wanted the Kansas City skyline as a backdrop for his portraits and we decided Liberty Memorial would be the perfect backdrop. It was such a fun afternoon. The weather called for clouds, but the sun popped out and gave us a few peeks of blue sky. I love it when the weather cooperates! Their photography package included a print, and I suggested we take some couples portraits with Mrs. N. Mr. and Mrs. N will be celebrating 35 years of marriage this year, and you can just see the love between them.
Two of my friends were married on Halloween, and I had the honor of being the wedding photographer. It was such a beautiful day. I spent the early afternoon with the ladies at the salon while costumed stylists did their magic. I visited the guys as they were putting on their ties and relaxing before the ceremony. I was able to catch up with the ladies again to capture the bride getting ready in her black wedding gown. The ceremony was short, sweet, and full of love. Perfection.
Over the weekend I had the pleasure of visiting my cousin Audrey at her home for a family portrait session. It was a cool, blustery fall day. Her yard had a lovely layer of fresh leaves, and she had a pumpkin. Once her family was bundled up for the weather, we had the makings of a perfect fall photo shoot. Audrey and her husband are a beautiful couple, and their son is absolutely adorable. Here is a teaser of a handful of their portraits.
